Race #1

First race of 2012! I'm way slower than I've ever been, but I had so much fun doing it. I have a couple more races that I've registered for...I secretly kinda want to do one a month. We'll see how it goes.

Running! (really I should say jogging)

I've started running again for lots of reasons. Not because I want to be super fast or win anything, but mostly because it's my little escape to get some time to myself. I've been going early in the morning before Chad leaves for work, but it's really hard to try to time it where it all works since Blake wakes up at different times everyday. I looked into rejoining the gym again, but it didn't work out. They all put all of the kids together in the same room and said they have up to 25-30 at a time sometimes. I'm not real comfortable putting Blake in the same room with big kids at this point. I figure by the time I am, we'll probably be close to having another one. Realistically I won't be going to the gym for several years. So......we got a treadmill!!!! I love it! It's so nice to be able to hop on it whenever and not have to stress about scheduling everything just right. Chad and his dad put it together this Saturday. Thank you guys so much!

Trying cereal again

Blake's rash is finally going away so we've started the cereal again. I'm not mixing it with formula this time :)

Blake's first try with rice cereal!


He did great! Until.....I mixed his cereal with formula a few days later. He apparently had a bad reaction to it. His face pretty much instantly turned bright red and was covered with huge whelps. It lasted for a little over an hour. I talked to his doctor and she said it was probably a reaction to the formula. He didn't have any other symptoms and thankfully he didn't have any problems breathing. Since then (4 days ago) he's had a different rash. Small red bumps all over. I haven't given him any cereal since the incident. I don't know if this rash is related to that or not, but I'm really hoping it goes away soon. Poor guy!
